Expert Opinion
Dr. Touhidul Haque, an associate professor and crime expert at the Institute of Social Welfare and Research at Dhaka University, stated that all types of crime have increased recently. "A criminal syndicate has been formed in the country that sees crime as a source of income," he said. While he believes the law and order situation is "somewhat more normal" than before, he emphasized that law enforcement agencies must become stricter and more active to curb the rising crime rate.
