Orientation Program for September Semester Students Held at UCSI University Bangladesh branch Campus

Another group of young students has embarked on their higher education journey at the Bangladesh branch campus of UCSI University. On Saturday, September 13, 2025 the UCSI University campus in Banani, Dhaka, was bustling with the presence of new students, on the occasion of the orientation program for the September 2025 semester. The event was attended by new students, their parents, and faculty members of the university.

The inaugural ceremony of the orientation program was graced by special guests, including Professor Dr. Mohd Kushairi bin Mohd Rajuddin from UCSI University Malaysia and Registrar Ts. Khalid Abdullah bin Abu Bakar.

Welcoming the new students, speeches were delivered by Professor Golam Ahmed Faruqui, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management; Professor Syed Akhter Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Digital Innovation; Provost Mr. Chan Joe Jim; and new students Nusrat Nurjahan and Mashrukur Rahman. The event was hosted by two students, Shoshi Hossain and Md Ahnaf Fateh Hossain.

In his address, Professor Kushairi told the students, "By enrolling at UCSI University, you have made the right decision. It is ranked among the top 300 universities globally and ninth in Asia. Now is the time to fulfill your own and your family's expectations. Learn to ask more questions. The more you ask in class, the more new worlds will open up for you." Dr. Kushairi also advised students to engage more in extracurricular activities.

Addressing the new students, Registrar Khalid Abdullah said, "Your higher education journey has begun with one of the world's leading universities. This path is both challenging and full of opportunities. Use this chance to build your future wisely."

Professor Golam Ahmed Faruqui, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management, stated, "Young people have the power to change themselves and their country positively. The Gen-Z generation has proven this across the globe. Your new life is beginning. Now is the time to move forward and dream big. You have the blessings of your parents, guardians, and teachers. They want to see you succeed, and it is up to you to fulfill those dreams."

Professor Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Digital Innovation, welcomed the new students, saying, "Your journey to fulfill your dreams has begun." He emphasized the importance of students becoming more humane.

Provost Mr. Chan Joe Jim stated, "UCSI University is always committed to providing international-standard education." He also highlighted the credit transfer facilities available to students.

Later, the faculty members provided detailed briefings on UCSI University's profile, curriculum, course structure, teaching methods, examinations, and extracurricular activities. After the briefing, the students toured the campus, visiting classrooms, seminar rooms, various labs, the library, and the sports zone.
