Seven political parties including Jamaat hold protests in Dhaka today

Jamaat-e-Islami and six other political parties have announced a three-day program to demand the implementation of the PR system and several other issues in preparation for the upcoming national parliamentary elections,

On Thursday, the first day of their program, these parties will hold protests and rallies in the capital.

Prior to the protests, the parties will organize individual rallies with banners in front of Baitul Mukarram and the National Press Club. These programs will take place from the afternoon until evening.

In addition to Jamaat-e-Islami, the seven parties include Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, Khelafat Majlis, Nizam-e-Islam Party, Bangladesh Khelafat Andolon, and Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA).

Jamaat’s programme

Jamaat-e-Islami will start its programme with a rally in front of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque’s south gate, followed by a march at 4:30 pm.

Party Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, secretary general Mia Golam Porwar, and other senior leaders will deliver speeches at the rally.

Islami Andolan

Islami Andolan Bangladesh will hold a rally in the northern courtyard of Baitul Mukarram Mosque after the Zuhr prayers, led by the party’s Senior Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim.

Islami Andolan Bangladesh’s Dhaka north and south units jointly will organise the programme.

Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis

After Asr prayer, the Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis will hold a protest march in front of the northern gate of Baitul Mukarram Mosque. The party's Amir Maulana Mamunul Haque will lead the rally.

Khelafat Majlis

At 3 PM, Khelafat Majlis will hold a protest rally in front of the National Press Club. The party's General Secretary Ahmad Abdul Quader will be the chief guest at the event.

Bangladesh Khelafat Andolon will join at the same venue and time, while Nizam-e-Islam Party will hold its programme there at 4:00 pm.

Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA)

JAGPA will stage its protest march at 4:30 pm from in front of the Bijoynagar water tank.
