Saifuzzaman Chy’s two assistants in corruption scheme arrested

Authorities have arrested two individuals who supervised and operated former land minister Saifuzzaman Chwodhury’s huge corruption and money laundering network.

Utpal Paul and Abdul Aziz were produced before the court of Chattogram Metropolitan Sessions Judge on Thursday, when officers asked to put the due on seven-day remand each. They were arrested from Chattogram’s Agrabad area the previous day.

Utpal Paul conducted money laundering activities for Saifuzzaman and oversaw his illegally bought foreign assets, while Abdul Aziz supervised Bangladeshi property sales and maintenance.
