EC asks BTV, Betar to be ready to record poll schedule

The Election Commission (EC) has instructed Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar to remain prepared to record and broadcast the announcement of the election schedule.

The EC’s public relations wing confirmed the development on Monday (December 8).

In a letter sent to BTV and Bangladesh Betar, the commission said that the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) would address the nation and directed the broadcasters to remain ready so that the speech could be recorded and aired immediately.

EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed said that a decision has been taken to record the address on 10 December.
