BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman on Thursday said that if he is entrusted with the responsibility of running the country in the future with the support of the people, he will try his best to govern Bangladesh in the light of the justice of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

“Whoever comes to run the country in the future, we will try our best to run the country in the light of the justice of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH),” Tarique Rahman said while speaking at a public reception held on the July 36 Expressway of the capital on Thursday afternoon, December 25.

He said that with the mercy and help of Allah upon the country and its people, Bangladesh would be able to achieve its aspirations.

“If Allah’s mercy and help are with this country and its people, InshaAllah, we will be able to build the Bangladesh we desire,” he said.

Calling on citizens to remain calm, the BNP acting chairman urged restraint in the face of any provocation.

“The national leaders on this stage and those outside it all want to lead the country and build the Bangladesh expected by the people. We must maintain peace and order at any cost and remain calm in the face of any provocation. We want peace in the country; we want peace in the country; we want peace in the country,” he said.

Tarique Rahman said the expected Bangladesh could be built through the collective efforts of the people.

“With the hard work of the people and the infinite mercy of Allah, we will be able to build the Bangladesh we hope for,” he added.

At the rally, Tarique Rahman also sought prayers from the country’s people for the recovery of BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia.

“From this rally, I will go to my mother. She loved the people of this country more than her own life. Everyone knows what she has gone through. As her son, I ask you to pray to Allah so that He grants her recovery,” he said.

Expressing his emotional state, Tarique Rahman said his heart remained with his mother at the hospital, but he felt compelled to come to the people first.

“My heart is with my mother in the hospital. But I could not stay away from the people for whom she sacrificed her life – you. That is why I came to you first, to express my gratitude,” he said.
