A Dhaka court on Tuesday ordered the attachment of the house and lands owned by former Member of Parliament (MP) Momtaz Begum and her associates, reports BSS.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The properties include a five-storey building with five kathas of land in Mohakhali, Dhaka, registered in the name of Momtaz Begum; a four-storey building with five decimals of land in Manikganj Sadar; a two-storey building with 21 decimals of land in Singair, Manikganj, and another two-storey building measuring 1,312 square feet in the same area; nine kathas of land in Purbachal New Town; 12 decimals of land in Manikganj; and 412 decimals of agricultural land in Singair police station area of Manikganj district.

The ACC plea said that an investigation team has been formed to probe allegations of money laundering against Momtaz Begum and other individuals and institutions linked to her interests. As the investigation against Momtaz Begum is ongoing, the application said it is imperative to freeze bank accounts and movable assets and to attach the immovable properties.
