Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) returned to the top of the Ligue 1 table with a commanding 3-0 victory over Lille on Saturday, powered by a brace from winger Ousmane Dembélé.

The hosts dominated from the outset at Parc des Princes under coach Luis Enrique. In the 13th minute, Dembélé opened the scoring with a low drive from 20 yards out, giving PSG an early lead.

After halftime, PSG continued their attacking display. In the 64th minute, Dembélé doubled his and the team’s tally with a spectacular chip from inside the box. The victory margin was sealed in stoppage time as substitute Bradley Barcola capitalized on a defensive lapse to score PSG’s third goal in the third minute of added time.

PSG controlled possession for 61% of the match and registered 13 shots. The 28-year-old Dembélé has now scored five league goals this season, with a total of eight in all competitions across 22 matches.

The win brings PSG’s tally to 42 points from 18 matches, with 13 wins, three draws, and two losses. Second-placed Lens has 40 points with a game in hand, while Auxerre could climb the standings tonight with a victory.

Despite Dembélé’s stellar performance, coach Luis Enrique stressed the need for defensive contributions, saying, “Everyone will call Ousmane the best player, but for me, that’s not enough. He needs to contribute more defensively.”

Looking ahead, PSG will return to European action in the Champions League, facing Portuguese side Sporting CP next Wednesday.
