Police have recovered the bodies of four women, including a college student, from different areas of the capital. The bodies were recovered between Friday night and Saturday morning from Badda, Mirpur, Demra, and Jatrabari. This information was confirmed by police and hospital sources.

According to police, the bodies were found hanging inside four separate residences and were sent to the Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Investigations are underway to determine whether the deaths were the result of planned murders or occurred for other reasons. Detailed information will be known after the autopsy reports are received. Cases are in the process of being filed in connection with the incidents.

Badda Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Fatema Siddika Soma said that on Friday night, the body of a domestic worker named Suborna was recovered from a house in the Baghabpur area of Aftabnagar. She had been living there with her husband. Preliminary investigations suggest that Suborna died by suicide following a family dispute between the couple.

Meanwhile, a college student named Mosammat Sanzana Islam Mim (19) reportedly died by suicide by hanging at a rented house in Mirpur-10. According to family members, the incident occurred around 6:30 am on Saturday on the third floor of the rented building.

The deceased, Sanzana Islam, was a second-year student at Mirpur English Version School and College. She was the daughter of Shawkat Mridha from Chandkhali village in Barguna Sadar upazila.
Sanzana’s elder brother, Sakhawat Hossain, said that she secretly went into her room in the morning and hanged herself by tying an orna (scarf) to the ceiling fan. When there was no response, the door was broken open and she was rescued and taken first to a local hospital, and later around 10:00 am to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. After examination, the attending physician declared her dead.

In another incident, the body of a woman named Asha Akter was recovered from a house in the Konapara Adarshabag area of Jatrabari. Her brother Akash told police that late Friday night, his sister was found hanging in a room of the house. With police assistance, she was taken to hospital, where doctors confirmed that she had already died.

Additionally, police recovered the body of another woman named Kohinur from a house in the East Boxnagar area of Demra. At around 3:00 am on Friday night, Demra Police recovered the body and sent it to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
