Miscreants have hacked a mother and her daughter to death in South Rajanagar village of Rajanagar Union under Sirajdikhan upazila in Munshiganj. The victims are Amena Begum (32) and her daughter Mariam (8). The incident occurred on Monday morning.

Amena Begum’s husband is Mizan Mia. The family had been living as tenants in a house owned by Nuruzzaman Sarkar in the area.

According to police and local residents, Amena Begum and her family rented the house four months ago. Around noon, locals went to the house and knocked on the door. When there was no response, they forced the door open and found the bodies of the mother and daughter inside. Upon receiving the information, police from Sirajdikhan Police Station arrived at the scene and recovered the bodies.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sirajdikhan Police Station, Md Abdul Hannan, said that preliminary suspicion suggests the murders may have occurred due to a family dispute. The matter is currently under investigation.
