Responsibilities of PM's six advisers distributed

The responsibilities of six advisers of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have been distributed. It was stated in a circular issued on Sunday signed by Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain.

Six persons have been appointed as the PM's advisors this time. Of them, five were the PM's advisers earlier. This time the PM's former principal secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury has been appointed as adviser.

Those who were advisers in the previous cabinet have also been appointed this time. They are Dr Mashiur Rahman, Gawhar Rizvi, Towfique-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Salman F Rahman and Maj Gen (Retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique.

The responsibilities received by the six advisers are as follows:


Prime Minister's Economic Adviser Dr Mashiur Rahman; Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Adviser Dr Towfique-e-Elahi Chowdhury; International Affairs Adviser Dr Gawhar Rizvi; Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman Fazlur Rahman; Education and Cultural Affairs Adviser Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury; and Security Adviser Major General (Retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique.

Earlier at a press conference at night on January 11, the cabinet secretary confirmed about the appointment of six persons as advisers. It was told at that time that the Prime Minister gave an appointment to those six advisers as per the Rules of Business. The advisers will enjoy the rank, salary and allowance, and other facilities of a minister.
