A Dhaka court has granted a six-day police remand for Rubel Ahmed, arrested in connection with the murder of Inqilab Mancha convener Sharif Osman Hadi. He was detained from Keraniganj and produced before the court on Thursday.

Investigators told the court that Rubel is a close associate of the prime accused and allegedly assisted in planning the crime and helping suspects remain in hiding after the incident. Police sought remand to conduct intensive interrogation and uncover further details.

Rubel denied the allegations during the hearing, claiming he has no involvement in the murder. After considering arguments, the court approved the remand and instructed police to inform his family about the arrest.
