The verdict in the crimes against humanity case related to the Chankharpul killings during the July mass uprising is being delivered today. The International Crimes Tribunal–1 is announcing the judgment under a three-member bench led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Majumder.

The live broadcast of the verdict began at 11:54 AM and is being aired through official platforms. The case involves eight accused, including former senior police officials. Four of the accused are currently absconding, while the remaining four are in custody.

The case stems from the killing of six individuals on August 5, 2024, the day the former government fell amid the mass uprising. Following a detailed investigation and trial process, the case has now reached its final verdict stage.

This marks the second verdict related to crimes against humanity committed during the July uprising, highlighting a significant milestone in the country’s judicial process.
