Chief Adviser Holds Meeting at Army Headquarters, Calls for Neutral Performance of Duties During the Election

To ensure that the upcoming election is inclusive, free from fear, and conducted in a fair manner for all, Chief Adviser of the interim government Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has directed the armed forces to carry out their duties with professionalism, neutrality, and strong inter-institutional coordination.

He gave these directives on Monday (January 26) during an exchange of views with senior officials of the armed forces at the Helmet Auditorium of Army Headquarters, marking the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and Referendum 2026.

The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Upon arrival at the venue, the Chief Adviser was received by Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Navy Chief Admiral M Nazmul Hasan, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmud Khan, and Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hasan.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chief Adviser highlighted the proud and responsible role played by the armed forces in meeting the country’s various needs. He also expressed sincere appreciation and gratitude to the armed forces for maintaining law and order with patience and professionalism over a long period.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on various important and contemporary issues related to the election. Senior officers of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with invited guests and members of the media, were present at the exchange of views.
