Supreme Court Declares General Holiday on February 11 and 12 for National Election and Referendum. The Supreme Court has declared a general holiday in both its Appellate Division and High Court Division on February 11 and 12 in observance of the 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum.
The information was disclosed in a notification signed by Supreme Court Registrar General Muhammad Habibur Siddiqui on Tuesday (January 27).
According to the notification, the government has declared a two-day public holiday on Wednesday and Thursday, February 11 and 12, 2026, through an executive order to facilitate the exercise of voting rights and the conduct of polling nationwide by officials and employees of government, semi-government, autonomous and private offices and institutions, as well as teachers and staff of public and private educational institutions, on the occasion of the 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum.
In view of this, and with the approval of the Chief Justice of Bangladesh, a two-day general holiday has been declared in the Appellate Division and the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh on the same dates.
Earlier, on January 25, the government announced a two-day nationwide public holiday on February 11 and 12 in connection with the 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum.
At the same time, a special holiday has also been declared for workers and employees of industrial areas on February 10.
