No Concerns Over Election Environment, Says Election Commissioner

Election Commissioner Anwarul Islam Sarkar has said that the overall environment for the upcoming national election is satisfactory, with no major concerns reported so far.

He stated that compared to many previous elections, the current electoral atmosphere is much improved. Complaints from candidates and political parties are being received and addressed promptly by the Election Commission.

According to official data, mobile courts have disposed of 144 complaints related to violations of the electoral code of conduct between January 8 and January 26. During this period, fines amounting to over nine lakh taka were collected and 94 cases were filed.

The commissioner emphasized that the Election Commission is taking all necessary measures to ensure voters can cast their ballots freely and safely. He also assured that election results will be announced within the stipulated time.
