Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Nasimul Ghani, has said that the individuals who threatened the Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Superintendent of Police (SP) cannot be identified as the calls were made from auto-generated numbers.

He made the remarks on Tuesday following meetings of the Advisory Committee on Government Procurement and the Advisory Committee on Economic Affairs at the Secretariat.

Responding to journalists’ questions, Ghani said authorities are aware of the incident and remain alert, but many auto-generated numbers cannot be traced due to technical limitations.

He also dismissed concerns over any additional security risks related to Rohingya camps ahead of the upcoming election, stating that there is no extra concern regarding the issue and that normal movement in and out of the camps will continue.
