EC Orders Direct Postal Submission of Vote Count Statements

Desk Report

The Election Commission has issued fresh instructions ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum, directing presiding officers to send vote count statements directly to the Commission by post.

According to the directive, presiding officers must dispatch one copy of the vote counting statement from each polling center using special envelopes provided by the Election Commission. Statements from both general polling centers and postal ballot counting centers must be sent through registered or insured postal services.

Officials will not be required to pay any postal charges in advance, as the costs will be settled through a book adjustment system with the postal department. To ensure timely delivery, post offices will remain open on election night and, if necessary, until the following morning.

The Election Commission has instructed all returning officers to ensure proper implementation of these measures.
