Bangladesh Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain stated that India moved the families of its diplomats from Bangladesh without prior notification to Dhaka.

Speaking at a press briefing on Wednesday, Hossain said, “There was no security threat. The embassy’s safety measures were fully in place. Whether the Indian government was satisfied, that was Delhi’s consideration.”

He confirmed that the Indian High Commission in Dhaka and regional missions in Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi, and Sylhet continue to operate normally.

The adviser also commented on the upcoming elections, noting that participating political parties are behaving cautiously and that any major violence could be attributed to non-participating parties.
