The BNP has called for a thorough and impartial investigation following violent incidents at an election manifesto announcement event in Sherpur. Party spokesperson and adviser Mahdi Amin said the clashes were entirely avoidable and condemned the actions of certain leaders who occupied all seats, preventing BNP members from sitting in their assigned areas.

He emphasized that the local administration and law enforcement failed to maintain order, resulting in one death and over 40 BNP members injured. Amin urged authorities to ensure a peaceful electoral environment and called on all political parties to act responsibly. He highlighted the party’s commitment to a free, fair, and inclusive election as vital for strengthening democracy in Bangladesh.
