“Calculate Before Challenging Me”: Fayez Ahmed Tayyab Defends His Record on Facebook

Fayez Ahmed Tayyab, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser in charge of Posts, Telecommunications, and ICT, has defended his record in a strongly worded Facebook post. He claimed that he left no scope for corruption in the telecom sector by avoiding the issuance of licenses during his tenure.

In his post, Tayyab stated that licensing is one of the main sources of corruption in the telecom industry. As he did not issue any licenses, he argued that allegations against him were politically motivated. He urged critics to focus on evaluating his work rather than resorting to personal attacks.

He also highlighted several reforms and policies introduced under his leadership, including cybersecurity, data protection, AI, and cloud policies. Emphasizing accountability, Tayyab said he had prepared a “note to successor” detailing his work. He called for responsible criticism and warned that undermining reform efforts could discourage capable individuals from serving the country in the future.
