Professor Muhammad Yunus, the recently outgoing Chief Adviser of the interim government, has formally returned his diplomatic (red) passport. According to officials, he handed over the passport about a week ago while still in office, completing the required administrative procedure ahead of the transition.

Officials from the Home and Foreign Ministries confirmed that nearly 20 advisers and individuals holding equivalent ranks have also surrendered their diplomatic passports. Many of them completed the process prior to the national vote as part of the formal handover arrangements.

Government sources stated that diplomatic passports are privilege-based documents issued for the duration of official duties. While most outgoing advisers have already complied, a few are yet to return theirs. Authorities indicated that they will be required to surrender the passports within the stipulated timeframe in accordance with regulations.
