Major Bureaucratic Shake-Up: 12 Secretaries Removed in a Single Day

The government has initiated a significant administrative overhaul by removing twelve senior secretaries in a single day, signaling a major restructuring within the civil service.

According to official orders, contracts of nine secretaries appointed on a contractual basis have been cancelled. Additionally, three serving secretaries have been withdrawn from their core responsibilities and attached to the Ministry of Public Administration as Officers on Special Duty (OSD).

As a result, twelve key positions across several important ministries have fallen vacant. Sources within the administration indicate that new appointments may be announced within this week, pending final approval from the higher authorities.

Officials suggest that the upcoming appointments may prioritize officers who were previously deprived of promotions or postings despite meeting eligibility criteria. There is speculation that experienced and comparatively neutral officers could return to influential positions under the new arrangement.

The reshuffle has sparked intense discussion within the Secretariat, with many viewing it as the beginning of a broader reform initiative. Observers believe this move reflects the government’s intention to realign the top tier of the bureaucracy in line with its policy priorities.

Administrative circles are now closely watching the next round of notifications, which could further redefine the leadership structure of the civil service.
