Opposition leader and Jamaat-e-Islami chief Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has urged students to move beyond textbook-based learning and prepare themselves for all challenges in life. Speaking at an iftar gathering in Gazipur, he emphasized that every student should develop a “fighter’s mindset” from the beginning of their academic journey.

He highlighted that educational institutions should focus not only on academic excellence but also on building character, leadership, and patriotism. According to him, recent political developments, including the election of former students to parliament, reflect the success of such education systems.

Meanwhile, political discourse around reforms has intensified. National Citizens Party convener Nahid Islam stated at a separate event that his party remains committed to structural reforms and aims to meet the expectations of the younger generation.

He alleged that certain political groups are reluctant to support key reforms despite publicly endorsing them. According to him, this situation is slowing down the pace of meaningful change in the country.

Nahid Islam further claimed that the current situation is pushing his party toward a stronger opposition stance.
