President Ganesh, General Secretary Saeed

The tri-annual elections of the Journalist Union Bogra have been completed with much fanfare. In this election, Ganesh Das (Ajakar Patrika) was elected as President and SM Abu Saeed (Deepta Television) was elected unopposed as General Secretary.

The closest rival to the president was Moushumi Akhtar (Dainik Mahasthan). On Saturday (March 9) voting started from 9 am to 3 pm at the Bogra Press Club square office.

After that at 4:30 PM the election management committee chairman Matiur Islam Sadi announced the results. According to the announced results, the other elected positions of the organization are: Abdus Chatter as Vice-President (Weekly Daily), Abdul Wadud as Deputy General Secretary (Our Economy Daily), Shamim Ahmed as Office Editor (Daily Expectation Daily), Pratik as Executive Member. Omar (Dainik Manabzamin) and Mahfuz Mondal (The Business Post). According to the sources of the Election Management Committee, out of the 9 posts of the organization, 6 posts have been voted.

Being a single candidate for the remaining 3 posts, he was elected unopposed. They are SM Abu Saeed (Deepta Television) as General Secretary, Saiful Islam (Dainik North Corner) as Organizing Secretary, and Ferdousur Rahman (The New Nation) as Treasurer. Out of 105 members of the organization, 99 exercised their voting rights. Election Management Committee Chairman Matiur Islam Sadi said that the voting for the three-year elections of Journalist Union Bogura was held in a free, fair and peaceful environment. The results are declared after counting the successfully obtained votes.
