Eviction Drive by Roads and Highways Department at Kesharhat Market

The Roads and Highways Department (RHD) conducted an eviction drive in the Kesharhat Market area of Mohanpur Upazila in Rajshahi, demolishing several shops and structures. The daylong operation was carried out on Sunday (May 10) under the leadership of Executive Engineer Sanjida Afrin Jhinuk.

During the drive, illegal structures built along both sides of the Rajshahi–Naogaon highway were removed sequentially using three excavator machines. Police, RAB personnel, and local political leaders and activists were present to maintain law and order during the operation.

According to RHD sources, the illegal establishments occupying highway land were causing disruptions to traffic movement. Therefore, the eviction drive was conducted to ensure road safety and restore smooth traffic flow.
