Allotment of candidates in Bandarban completed

Deputy Commissioner and District Returning Officer Shah Mojahid Uddin has allocated the symbols of the candidates to participate in the 12th National Assembly elections to be held on January 7.

Deputy Commissioner and District Returning Officer Shah Mojahid Uddin allotted a boat to Awami League candidate Bir Bahadur Ushaising and a plow to Jatiya Party candidate ATM Shahidul Islam in the conference room of the District Commissioner's office on Monday (December 18) at 10 am.

On behalf of Awami League candidate Bir Bahadur Ushaisingh, senior vice-president of district Awami League Shafiqur Rahman, municipal Awami League president Amal Kanti Das accepted the party symbol boat, and Jatiya Party candidate Md. ATM Shahidul Islam accepted the plow symbol of the Jatiya Party.
District Superintendent of Police Saikat Shaheen, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Md. Saiful Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Umm Kulsoom, Deputy Director of Local Government, SM Manjurul Haque, Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Fazlur Rahman along with executive officers of district administration and Awami League were present. And party leaders of Jatiya Party candidates.

Meanwhile, District Commissioner and District Returning Officer Shah Mojahid Uddin called upon all the political parties to campaign per the electoral conduct rules.

It is to be noted that on October 17, the senior leader of the district Awami League Mangyen Chowdhury withdrew his nomination for the Bandarban seat. He went to the returning officer yesterday and withdrew his candidature.
As a result, Awami League's Bir Bahadur Ushaisingh and Jatiya Party's ATM Shahidul Islam will compete in this seat. In total 182 polling stations in Asti, the number of voters is 2 lakh 88 thousand 30 people.
