Two killed in Satkhira road accident

Two labours were killed and seven others injured in a road accident on Khulna-Paikgacha road in Gonali area under Tala upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased were identified as Saidul Gazi, 44, and Monirul Islam, 25. Both were the residents of Koyra upazila in Khulna district.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tala Thana Md Mominul Islam said the accident occurred when a paddy-laden truck overturned in the area around 6:30 am as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving Saidul and Monirul dead on the spot and injuring others.

"Bodies were sent to Satkhira Sadar Hospital," he said, adding that the truck was seized.
