Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus offered prayer at Abu Sayed's grave in Rangpur's Pirganj upazila this morning (Aug 10).

According to reporters, a helicopter carrying Dr Yunus landed at Bangladesh Marine Academy in Pirganj around 11 am.

Later, he went to the house of Abu Sayed and consoled the bereaved family members.

Yunus was accompanied by Nahid Islam, adviser for telecommunication and information technology.

Yunus is scheduled to visit Rangpur Medical College Hospital to see those injured in the violence centring the Anti-Discrimination Students' Movement.

Abu Sayed was killed in police firing during the quota protests on July 16.

Abu Sayed, a 12th batch student at English Department of Begum Rokeya University (BRU) in Rangpur and a coordinator of the anti-quota movement, was the first student killed in police firing during the movement on July 16.

His death sparks agitation among the student protestors which led to the fall of Awami League government on August 5.

In his first speech after arrival in Dhaka on Thursday (Aug 8) , Nobel Laureate Prof Muhammad Yunus recalled Begum Rokeya University Student Abu Sayed and said he will remain in the hearts of all in Bangladesh forever.
