Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus is scheduled to make his first official visit to Thailand.
Officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday (August 20) that he will depart Bangladesh on September 3 to attend the BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok.
In preparation for the Chief Adviser’s visit, Bangladesh's Ambassador to Thailand, Faiyaz Murshid Kazi, has already been dispatched to Bangkok on an urgent basis.
Dr Yunus is scheduled to deliver a speech at the BIMSTEC Summit on September 4 and will return to Bangladesh on September 5.
During the visit, a courtesy meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also a possibility, which could further strengthen diplomatic ties between the two nations.
The summit will take place from September 2 to 4, with top leaders from all BIMSTEC member states, including India, expected to attend.
