Since the interim government took over, the candidates have been demanding the cancellation of the ongoing HSC and equivalent exams.

On Tuesday (August 20), the Ministry of Education announced the cancellation of the postponed exams. Now the students of Notre Dame College called for a movement to return the exam.

In a statement issued to the general students on Wednesday (August 21), the decision to cancel the examination was being made.

It is said that the notification which has been issued unilaterally without discussing with all parties in the situation arising out of HSC examination 2024 is rejected by the students of Notre Dame College. The anti-discrimination student movement was organized to ensure the victory of merit. The decision to devalue the merit of hardworking students without taking exams is absurd.

In the statement, the students put forward three demands to solve the problem. The demands are- the situation arising should be brought to a favorable state as soon as possible and the HSC-2024 exam should be organized. The list of HSC-2024 batch students injured in the anti-discrimination movement should be released as soon as possible and measures should be taken to protect their interests. What to do should be decided in consultation with representatives of injured hero students. A policy decision should be taken immediately on whether they will participate in the examination after a reasonable time the authorities will not give them auto-promotion or any other approach will be adopted. It should be ensured that the injured students are not discriminated against by other students in future.

It also said that a sit-in program will be held by the batch of 2024 in protest against the decision to cancel the examination and in support of three points demand, a program will be held in front of the Notre Dame College Gate in Motijheel on Wednesday (August 21) around 2 pm.
