Inu, Menon, Mamun shown arrested in two murder cases

Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASOD) president and former information minister Hasanul Haq Inu, Bangladesh Workers Party (BWP) president and former tourism minister Rashed Khan Menon, and former IGP Abdullah Al Mamun were shown arrested today in Ramiz Uddin and Tahidul Islam murder cases, lodged with Tejgaon Thana of the capital.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saddam Hossain passed the order accepting a plea from the investigating officer of the cases this morning. According to the cases, on August 4, Ramiz Uddin Ahmad was shot dead in Tejgaon area while taking part in a protest rally during anti-discrimination movement. His father AKM Rakibul Hasan filed the case with Tejgaon Thana against Sheikh Hasina and 222 others on September 7.

Md Tahidul Islam, a student of Kabi Nazrul Government College was killed during the movement in the same area on August 4. His brother Md Tariqul Islam filed the case against Sheikh Hasina and 47 others with the same police station later.

Since their arrest, Inu Menon and Mamun were taken on remands in separate murder cases for several occasions.
