DMP files 870 cases, fines Tk 35.79 lakh for traffic violations

Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 870 cases and imposed Taka 35,79,500 as fine in a single day across the capital for violating traffic rules.

The cases were filed and fine imposed on September 22, a DMP release said here today.

During the drive, a total of 64 vehicles were impounded and 60 others towed. Taka 8, 62,550 was collected in cash during the drives.

The DMP release further said these drives will continue to bring discipline on Dhaka's streets.
