A Chattogram court has rejected the bail petition of Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, the spokesperson of the Bangladesh Sammilito Sanatan Jagaron Jote, and ordered him to be sent to jail in a treason case filed over allegations of disrespecting the national flag.

Judge Shariful Islam of the Chattogram Sixth Metropolitan Magistrate Court passed the order around 11:45 AM on Tuesday.

Chinmoy’s lawyer, Dilip Kumar Nath, said, "The court has rejected the bail petition. We will file a miss case tomorrow."

Earlier, the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) handed over Chinmoy to the Chattogram Metropolitan Police. The DB stated that he was accused in a case filed in Chattogram.

Chinmoy, who is also the head of Pundarik Dham in Chattogram, was arrested by DB police from the airport area in the capital at 4:30 PM on Monday (November 25).
