Election Commissioner Md. Anichur Rahman said, we want fair, neutral and acceptable elections. Don't want to choose to please or displease anyone. We are doing the level playing field that needs to be created for voting. Law and order forces will do whatever is necessary.

He said these things in the speech of the chief guest in the special law and order and opinion exchange meeting with the officials and individuals related to the election along with the rival candidates of Lakshmipur district on the occasion of 12th National Parliament Election-2024 at Lakshmipur Town Hall Auditorium on Tuesday evening.

If the code of conduct is not obeyed, the election commissioner said, if the code of conduct can be followed, many undesirable incidents will not happen. We are not only watching this election with our eyes, but the world is also watching it. A lot depends on this election. Our country's business depends on our economy. If the code of conduct is not followed we will cancel the candidature. If necessary, I will stop voting and re-election. However, there should be a fair vote. I will do it as often as needed.

The Election Commissioner told all the candidates that if the election is questionable, it will lose international acceptance. The country will be subject to sanctions. The country's economy will be threatened. Which is not good for anyone. Therefore, he wished everyone's cooperation in the impartial election.

On this occasion, returning officer and Laxmipur District Commissioner Suraiya Jahan, District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Tarek Bin Rashid, Comilla Regional Election Officer Farhad Mia and District Election Officer Shafiqul Islam, along with various candidates of 4 constituencies of Laxmipur and senior officials of district administration and police administration were present.
