Amidst poetry, songs and discussions, a floral tribute and a commemorative plaque were presented to journalist Abul Kashem at the 1221st meeting of Bhorer Alo Literary Festival.
He was presented with this honor at a reception at Modern Dental, adjacent to Kishoreganj Model Police Station, on February 14 (Friday) at 8 am.
The book's author, poet Motaher Hossain, presided over the event.
The event, moderated by Md. Rezaul Habib Reza, the founder of the literary festival, lasted for about 3 hours.

Sultan Ahmed, recently retired headmaster of a primary school, artist Md. Helal Uddin Akand, cultural secretary of the festival Md. At the end of the ceremony, the chief guest A.S.M. Misbah Uddin handed over the honorary memento to the tortured journalist Abul Kasem.
Before that, the revolutionary young woman Sumaiya Akhter Iqra, who was injured in the anti-discrimination movement, and the prominent coordinator of the district Ashraful Islam Nadim placed a wreath around Abul Kasem's neck.
Later, journalist Abul Kasem, who received the honorary memento, expressed his feelings. It is worth noting that in the past few days, journalist Abul Kasem was the victim of a bloody attack by some masked militant terrorists while trying to highlight the immoral activities of the society. One night in the month of Ramadan, after Tarawih prayers, a group of evil people hacked and injured Kasem on the road in front of his house. When he was lying on the road and crying, the Muslims of the village brought him to the hospital. Seeing that Kasem's condition was critical, the hospital authorities referred him to the Dhaka Hospital and the doctors working at the Kishoreganj Sadar Hospital. Then, after a long treatment in Dhaka, journalist Kasem regained consciousness. Journalist Abul Kasem did not get justice for being caught in the web of conspiracy. Journalist Abul Kasem did not only publish immoral images, but also actively covered the news of various political, social and cultural organizations in Kishoreganj.
In particular, he was vocal in covering almost every news event of organizations such as Bhorer Alo Literary Society, Kishoreganj History-Tradition Preservation Committee, National Journalist Association, etc. Despite his illness, journalist Abul Kasem, who returned from the brink of death, did not hesitate to cover the news constantly. To express gratitude for his efforts, the Bhorer Alo Literary Festival presented the journalist with a commemorative plaque and flowers.
At the end of the event, the president of the Bhorer Alo Literary Festival, poet Motaher Hossain, thanked everyone and declared the meeting closed.
