The National Consensus Commission, led by Chief Advisor Dr. Yunus, is resuming its dialogue with political parties today. According to the schedule, the commission will hold a meeting with the AB Party at 3 PM this afternoon.

Commission Co-Chairman Professor Dr. Ali Riaz and other members will be present at the meeting. A 10-member delegation from the AB Party, led by its Chairman Mojibur Rahman Manju, will participate.

Sources indicate that the AB Party has agreed with 108 out of the commission's 166 recommendations, expressed disagreement on 32, and partial agreement on 26.

Earlier, the National Consensus Commission was formed on February 12 to build national consensus on reforms. The five commissions formed on the constitution, elections, judiciary, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), and public administration sought opinions from 38 political parties on their 166 recommendations. Of these, 28 parties submitted their opinions.

The first phase of dialogue with the parties that submitted their opinions began on March 20. The commission has already discussed the submitted opinions with the LDP, Khelafat Majlis, Labour Party, and Rashtra Sanskar Andolan.

Monir Haider, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor and Coordinator of the Commission, told the media that discussions will also be held with the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, NCP, and other parties in phases.

It is worth noting that the issues on which political parties agree through discussions will be signed as a commitment in the July Charter for implementation.
