8 get life imprisonment in police inspector Mamun murder case

A court today (April 17) convicted and sentenced eight people including notorious Dubai-based businessman Arav Khan to life imprisonment in a case lodged over the murder of police inspector Mamun Imran Khan.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib pronounced the judgment, reports BSS.

The other convicts are- Suraiya Akter Keya, Rahmat Ullah, Swapan Sarkar, Mizan Sheikh, Atik Hasan, Sarwar Hasan and Didar Pathan.

Inspector Mamun was killed in the city’s Banani area on July 7, 2018. His brother filed the case on July 10. Police on March 31, 2019, filed the charge sheet against the eight. The court on November 25, 2021, framed charges in the case.

The court today came up with the judgment, examining 26 witnesses on different hearing dates.
