NCP in Crucial Talks with National Consensus Commission

The National Citizens' Party (NCP) has begun a meeting with the National Consensus Commission.

The meeting commenced on Saturday morning (April 19), though the identities of all attendees have not yet been confirmed. The NCP delegation is expected to be led by the party’s convenor, Nahid Islam.

Previously, on March 23, the NCP submitted a written response to the National Consensus Commission regarding the Reform Commission’s recommendations. Out of the 166 proposals presented, the party expressed disagreement with 22 of them.

The NCP stated that recommendations not related to the Constitution could be implemented through ordinances, while issues involving constitutional amendments would require an election to form a Constituent Assembly.

Formed on February 28, the NCP is a youth-led political party that has been actively participating in the political landscape under the banner of the National Citizens' Party.
