Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has reaffirmed Bangladesh's dedication to inclusive and climate-resilient urban development, while urging the international community to adopt his visionary "Three Zero" goals or "World of Three Zeros", meaning zero poverty, zero unemployment and zero net carbon emissions.

In a video message delivered on Monday morning (local time) at the 81st session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), held in Bangkok, Dr Yunus emphasised the need for global solidarity in achieving sustainable urban futures.

In his message, he also called upon participating countries to enhance regional cooperation in tackling climate and urban challenges and to harness the potential and innovation of youth in building a sustainable future.

The 81st session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) has commenced today at the UN Conference Centre in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Delegates from 53 member states and 9 associate members of the commission have gathered for this session. The Bangladesh delegation is being led by Dr Anisuzzaman Chowdhury, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor (with the rank of State Minister).

Dr Yunus expressed confidence that the Bangladesh delegation will offer valuable insights and foster meaningful partnerships throughout the week-long conference.
