Salman, Anisul, Mamun remanded in July uprising killing cases

A court on Wednesday (30 April) placed Salman F Rahman, Anisul Huq and Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun on different terms of remand in three separate cases filed over murders committed in the capital during the July-August mass uprising, reports BSS.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqur Rahman passed the orders as police produced the trio before the court and pleaded to place them on remand in the cases.

Of the three, the former inspector general of police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun was placed on a three-day remand in the case lodged over the killing of Russel with the Jatrabari Police Station. Former law minister Anisul Huq was placed on a two-day remand in the Abdul Jabbar murder case filed with the Badda Police Station.

Besides, Salman F Rahman, former private industry affairs adviser to the ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, was placed on a three-day remand in the Monir murder case filed with the Bhatara Police Station.
