BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir believes that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's return to the country will further ease the path to democratic transition. He made these remarks to journalists at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Tuesday (May 6th) morning.

"Begum Zia is returning home today after four months of medical treatment. It is a joyous day for us, the country, and the nation. Because her return will ease our path to democratic transition. It will steer the entire country towards a non-discriminatory situation," said the BNP Secretary General.

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is returning home today after spending four months in London for advanced medical treatment and with her family. 1  She is accompanied by her two daughters-in-law and nine members of her medical board.

The Qatar Royal Air Ambulance carrying Khaleda Zia is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 10:00 AM. A massive gathering of party members has already gathered at the airport area to welcome Khaleda Zia.
