Dr Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of the interim government, is set to meet with leaders from eight political parties and organisations, including Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, Islami Andolan Bangladesh, and Gono Odhikar Parishad, in two separate sessions at his official residence, Jamuna, this Sunday (May 25).
According to a press release issued by the Chief Adviser's Press Wing, a total of 20 political leaders will attend the meetings, divided into two rounds. The first session is scheduled for 5:00 pm, the second at 6:00 pm.
In a message sent earlier today by Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, the names of the participants were disclosed.
First Session (5:00 pm): 11 leaders are expected to meet with the Chief Adviser in the first round of discussions. They include:
- Col. (Retd.) Oli Ahmed – President, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP)
- Mahmudur Rahman Manna – President, Nagorik Oikya
- Saiful Haque – General Secretary, Revolutionary Workers Party
- Zonayed Saki – Chief Coordinator, Gonosonghoti Andolon
- Hasnat Kaiyum – Coordinator, Rastro Songskar Andolon
- Mojibur Rahman Monju – Chairman, Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party
- Mujahidul Islam Selim – Former President, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB)
- Khalequzzaman Bhuiyan – Chief Adviser, Bangladesh Socialist Party (BSD)
- Tipu Biswas – Coordinator, National People’s Front
- Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Babul – Convener, Bhasani Followers Council and Freedom Fighter
- Shahid Uddin Mahmud Swapan – General Secretary, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD)
Second Session (6:00 pm): 9 more leaders will join the Chief Adviser in the second round. They include:
- Maulana Sadikur Rahman – Islamic scholar
- Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim – Ameer, Islami Andolan Bangladesh
- Maulana Mamunul Haque – Joint Secretary General, Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh
- Ahmad Abdul Quader – Secretary General, Khelafat Majlis
- Maulana Azizul Haque Islamabadi – Joint Secretary General, Hefazat-e-Islam
- Maulana Manjurul Islam Afendi – Secretary General, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh
- Nurul Haque Nur – President, Gono Odhikar Parishad
- Maulana Musa Bin Izhar – Secretary General, Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party
- Mufti Sakhawat Hossain Raji – Secretary General, Islami Oikya Jote
These meetings are expected to cover pressing political issues and seek broader consensus ahead of the upcoming national developments.
