10 Bangladeshi Pilgrims Deceased as Over 62,000 Reach Saudi Arabia

As of today, Monday, May 26, 2025, ten Bangladeshi pilgrims have died while performing the holy Hajj in Saudi Arabia. A total of 62,883 Bangladeshi pilgrims have arrived in the Kingdom for this year's pilgrimage. The latest Hajj bulletin released on Monday (May 26) provided these figures.

The bulletin detailed that pilgrims arrived via 163 flights. Biman Bangladesh Airlines transported 32,347 passengers on 85 flights, Saudi Airlines carried 21,908 passengers on 57 flights, and Flynas Airlines brought 8,628 passengers on 21 flights.

Of the pilgrims who have reached Saudi Arabia, 4,583 traveled under government management, while 58,300 went through private agencies. Among the 10 deceased pilgrims, nine are men and one is a woman.

This year's Hajj journey officially began on April 29, 2025, with the first dedicated Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying 398 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia. The outbound flights are scheduled to conclude on May 31.

A total of 87,100 Bangladeshi pilgrims are expected to perform Hajj this year, with 5,200 under government arrangements and 81,900 through private channels.

The Hajj rituals are tentatively scheduled to take place around June 5. Return flights for pilgrims will commence on June 10 and are expected to conclude by July 10.
