A Dhaka court on Tuesday (July 1) ordered the publication of a gazette notification summoning 100 people including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana and her son Sajeeb Wazed joy in six cases lodged over alleged scam in allocating plots in the Purbachal New Town Project.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order and set July 20 for submitting report on the matter.

Confirming the matter to BSS, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) counsel Mir Ahmed Ali Salam said today was fixed for holding hearing of six of the cases lodged over the plot allocation scam.

"Reports in five cases have been submitted, stating that the accused, including Sheikh Hasina, are on run. The court had set today for submitting report on publishing gazette in another case. But, as the report was not submitted, the court ordered the gazette publication in all six cases and adjourned the hearing till July 20," he said.

Earlier, the court had issued arrest warrants against all 100 accused, including Sheikh Hasina. On May 25, the court had set June 17 for submitting a report on the execution of the arrest orders.
